Professor David Croisdale-Appleby awarded OBE in New Year’s Honours list

New Skills for Care Chair Professor David Croisdale-Appleby has been awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours list for his work in the public and voluntary sectors.

Professor Croisdale-Appleby was elected by the Skills for Care board as their new chair in November 2008 and his OBE recognises his work in formulating health and social care policy as well as his many roles in the NHS.

As well as his new appointment Professor Croisdale-Appleby serves as the chair of the NICE programme creating the future national guidelines for Long-Term Sickness and Incapacity and he has also served as the Chair of Buckinghamshire Hospital NHS Trust.

"Skills for Care would like to congratulate David on being appointed OBE and although it recognises work done before he joined us it proves we have appointed a chair who has the right sort of high-level experience to make sure we can deliver a highly trained social care workforce," says Skills for Care CEO Andrea Rowe.

"His OBE recognises his long standing commitment to the development of effective NHS and social care policy that will benefit our organisation as we deal with the huge challenges and opportunities facing our sector."
