Opportunity to apply for funding for practice learning

Skills for Care are inviting national organisations to bid for up to £20,000 to:
- increase the availability and quality of practice learning in your organisation, primarily with a statutory focus
- provide data, information and feedback on the practice learning already taking place in your organisation and the impact of a proposed, revised definition of statutory practice learning
Closing date: 10th July 2009
The social work development partnership board would like to work with employers in national organisation towards its objective in 2009/2010 of increasing the availability and quality of statutory practice learning. It would like to encourage national employers to increase statutory practice learning provided in non-local authority settings. It is also 'testing out' with employers the impact of a proposed revision of the definition of statutory practice learning by seeking additional data and information. National organisations are invited to complete a statement of intent form to receive financial support for these activities.
National organisation which do not directly provide statutory placements, but provide placements that offer students good preparation to undertake statutory practice placements in the future may also make an application.
