Celebrate 2009 apprenticeship week

Apprenticeship week takes place from the 23rd until the 27th February  and to mark this occasion Skills for Care is involved with a series of event across all 9 regions. Generically, country wide, the Learning Skills Council (LSC) and all of the sector skills councils/bodies are promoting Apprenticeships across pre and post 16 routes.

did you know.....

  • 3034 individuals, in Social Care, were awarded with their level 2 or advanced Health and Social Care Apprenticeship completion certificates during 2008
  • The Young Apprenticeship programme in health & social care is a pre 16 route for pupils.
    Cohort 4,with approximately 1,050 young apprentices, completes in July 2009.
    Cohort 5 with approximately 1,111 young apprentices is ¾ part through it's 1st year and begins it's 2nd, and final year, in September 2009.
    Cohort 6 is estimated to have approximately 1,150 young apprentices will begin in September 09
