Skills for Care launch Accolades 2010 celebrating the very best practice in social care workforce development

Entries are now open for the Skills for Care Accolades 2010 celebrating the very best practice in social care workforce development by employers across England.

The Accolades are now seen as the Oscars of the social care world rewarding social care employers and organisations for their commitment to workforce development and innovation. There are 14 award categories, including 'Most effective recruitment initiative' and 'Best quality provision of social work practice placements'.

For the third year running the Accolades will be presented in partnership with the Department of Health and category winners will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony, usually attended by the Social Care minister in office at the time, to be held at London's world famous Dorchester Hotel in November 2010.

Skills for Care want to hear from organisations that provide a high quality service and invest in training, qualifications and development for their staff. Anyone can nominate an organisation or employer that they feel would be a worthy winner of an Accolade.

The North West region are hosting four drop in sessions at our Leyland offices on:

• 9th March - 10am - 3.30pm
• 15th March - 10am - 3.30pm
• 18th March - 10am - 3.30pm
• 30th March - 10am - 3.30pm
