Pandemic flu - a social care workshop
The Department of Health is sponsoring a series of regional workshops to help social care commissioners and providers plan for and respond to a flu pandemic. The events are free to attend and are being hosted the Joint Improvement Partnership NW.
The event will take place on Thursday, 9th July 2009, The Halliwell Jones Stadium, Winwick Rd, Warrington, WA2 7NE. To book your place use the booking form below and ensure you send it back by the 19th June.
Earlier events focused on raising awareness of pandemic flu and the importance of business continuity planning. Workshops included supporting independent and third sector providers, managing absenteeism, decision-making, personalisation, statutory duties, transient populations and communication.
In view of the recent swine flu developments, programmes for the remainder of the workshops will be flexible. The final programme will depend on the impact that swine flu is having on service planning and provision at the time. This event will provide an opportunity for delegates to talk about how they are coping with the challenges and threats posed by swine flu, and any emerging issues or lessons learned.
